UNICEF Opens New Medical Point in North Gaza

UNICEF Field Coordinator Fairooz Abu Warda reports from her hometown, Jabalia, where UNICEF opened a medical point in December 2025. Palestinian families are returning to the area, despite immense devastation and a lack of services. A bright spot in a landscape dominated by ruins, the medical point will provide essential primary health care and nutrition services for around 10,000 families. "UNICEF has been among the first to step in and establish a medical point in this area," Warda says. "In a place like Jabalia, where the destruction is overwhelming, bringing services back, starting today, is an essential stop toward dignity, towards hope, for children and their families."
