Update on Prof. Merry! [STORY BELOW]

She has started gaining a little weight, which is such an important step forward, and she’s eating quite well now — something we’re incredibly grateful for after everything her tiny body has endured. Emotionally, Merry is still very timid and clearly carrying deep trauma. When Blu, the larger dog in her foster home, approaches the pen where she stays, Merry becomes frightened and barks and cries — her little voice sounding like an ambulance. It’s heartbreaking, but it also reminds us just how much fear and uncertainty she experienced before rescue. We’re taking things at her pace, giving her space, reassurance, and time to learn that she is finally safe. Merry still has a long road ahead, both physically and emotionally. Healing from neglect and survival doesn’t happen overnight, especially for a dog as fragile as she is. But with continued care, patience, and love, we are hopeful she will continue to build strength and confidence one day at a time. Thank you to everyone who has supported Prof. Merry so far.
