The Story of Müne Mungan: A 45-year-old Parkinson's Patient

Our 45-year-old patient, Müne Mungan, was diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson’s disease 10 years ago. Ms. Mungan came to us from Mardin seeking treatment, and on December 18, 2025, we performed Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery. 🍀 When she first reached out to us, Parkinson’s disease had unfortunately taken a toll not only on her body but also on her spirit. Due to severe tremors, Ms. Mungan was unable to eat on her own, struggling in social settings, and was gradually withdrawing from people, including her own family. When she returned for follow-up appointment after completing her treatment on January 6, 2026, we witnessed not only the disappearance of her tremors, but also the return of the light in her eyes. She is now able to eat independently and move freely. 👏 As Ms. Mungan returns to her hometown of Mardin, reunited with her husband and children, I wish her a healthy, peaceful, and active life, just as she has longed for. 🍀 #Parkinson #DeepBrainStimulation #DBS #DrAliZirh #ParkinsonsDisease
