People Are Mad About This Plane — I LOVE IT

The E-flite Timber 1.5m 10th Anniversary SE (Special Edition) is back, and yes… people have opinions. Ten years ago, this plane helped a massive number of pilots successfully get into the RC airplane hobby thanks to SAFE and AS3X, and there’s a reason the Timber name never went away. The Timber airframe is simply designed right. It’s forgiving when you need it to be, but still capable and fun once you’re comfortable on the sticks. The 10th Anniversary Special Edition builds on that legacy with meaningful upgrades, not just cosmetic changes. This new version features more durable landing gear, a top-mounted battery hatch... and 3S or 4S power compatibility, where the original was limited to 3S only. On 4S, this thing absolutely rips.. it’s smooth, powerful, and surprisingly aerobatic for a high-wing STOL-style airplane. With the optional leading-edge slats installed, the Timber can fly incredibly slow and tight. In fact… I even flew it in my backyard. Was it sketchy? Absolutely. Would I recommend it? Probably not. But it shows just how capable and controllable this airframe really is. Love it or hate it, the E-flite Timber 1.5m 10th Anniversary SE flies incredible, and it’s easy to see why Horizon brought it back for a new generation of pilots — while still keeping longtime Timber fans smiling.
