Governor Wes Moore is the 63rd Governor of Maryland and the first Black Governor in the state's history. Born in Takoma Park, Maryland, he is a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy and Johns Hopkins University, where he became the university's first Black Rhodes Scholar before earning a master's degree in international relations at Oxford University. Moore served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division, deploying to Afghanistan before returning home to serve as a White House Fellow advising on national security and international affairs. Before entering public office, Governor Moore was a bestselling author, entrepreneur, and CEO of the Robin Hood Foundation, one of the nation's largest anti-poverty organizations. Throughout his career, Governor Moore has focused on expanding opportunity, strengthening communities, and delivering results for working families. He lives in Annapolis with his wife, First Lady Dawn Flythe Moore, and their two children, Mia and James.
