But if that’s true, why are so many EVs being pre-registered, heavily discounted, and then offered as “used” cars with delivery mileage? In this video, I look at the contradiction nobody in the EV PR machine wants to talk about: if genuine retail demand is supposedly booming, why do dealers and manufacturers need to knock huge amounts off the price just to move the metal? A pre-registered car may technically be “used”, but when it has barely turned a wheel, what we’re really looking at is a brand-new car that has been registered to hit targets, clear stock, or protect the official sales story. And when discounts of up to 54% start appearing, it raises a very obvious question: Are EVs really flying off the shelves — or are they being pushed, registered, discounted, and dumped into the used market to make the numbers look better than they really are? This is not anti-EV. This is anti-spin. If the demand is real, the discounts shouldn’t need to be this brutal.
