TRACES (2025) - 16mm Film Spec Ad

A piece I’ve been dabbling with for a while, it’s my first time shooting 16mm film and I’m so intrigued by the process. I love the intention and focus, something I don’t feel as much when shooting digital and there’s something special about trusting your instincts when playback or having a proper image reference isn’t possible. We filmed this over two days, in 4 ambitious locations that had to fit within the period. I wanted to shoot film for ages but felt it had to be intentional rather than for the sake of aesthetics, so a Spec Ad for @cartier based in the 50s of rural France made sense.
