New less expensive trim //2026 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid review

This is a Motormouth couple car review of the updated 2026 Hyundai Tucson hybrid, compact SUV. In Canada, Hyundai has brought an even more affordable Tucson Hybrid to market called the Night Edition which we are driving. It is loaded with standard features yet priced well at $45,791 (Pricing includes, freight, PDI and fees). It gives you those extra features you may be looking for in a base trim. The most inexpensive trim in the US is Blue SE at $32,450 (MSRP). So what do you get? Standard features in Canada include, a 12.3” digital driver display 12.3” touchscreen, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a wireless charger, 6-speaker audio system, leatherette upholstery, heated front and rear seats, 8-way power driver’s seat with 2-way lumbar support, manual passenger seat, heated steering wheel, panoramic sunroof and a power liftgate. In the US, not all these features are standard since there are more trims to choose from. The Tucson Hybrid is powered by a 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder with a 6-speed automatic transmission, a combined 231 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque, standard AWD. Not only is this vehicle one of the biggest in its class offering families plenty of space, it also delivers on fuel economy. 6.7L/100 km, 36 MPG in both the city and on the highway. The Tucson Hybrid as well as the Kia Sportage Hybrid are the quietest hybrids in their class which is not easy to achieve considering the price point. Here are a few more trims if you are interested in some of the extra features available like a head-up display, surround view and blind view monitors, 8-speaker Bose sound system, driver seat memory including the mirrors, 8-way power passenger seat, ventilated front seats and heated rear seats. In Canada, N Line $46,791 and Ultimate $50,791 (Pricing includes, freight, PDI and fees). In the US, SEL $33,900, SEL Convenience $34,900 and Limited $42,075 (MSRP). The Tucson Hybrid can tow up to 2,000 pounds.
