Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter Take a stroll through the Backlot at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, located at the halfway point of the tour between Platform 9¾ and the Creature Effects area. This outdoor section combines iconic Harry Potter sets with places to eat and drink, giving guests the chance to relax while surrounded by locations and props from the Wizarding World. The Backlot is home to the expanded Backlot Café, where visitors can enjoy burgers, hot dogs, salads, sandwiches, and other refreshments while overlooking famous exterior sets. Right next door is the Butterbeer Bar, serving the famous non-alcoholic wizarding drink in a souvenir tankard, alongside frozen Butterbeer, Butterbeer ice cream, and a selection of Butterbeer-inspired treats. Stepping outside, guests can explore some of the Studio Tour's most recognisable sets and props, including Number 4 Privet Drive, the Knight Bus, Sirius Black's Motorbike and Sidecar, Arthur Weasley's Flying Ford Anglia, the Hogwarts Bridge, Professor Sprout's Greenhouse where visitors can repot Mandrakes, and the scale model of the Weasleys' home, The Burrow. The Backlot Stage is also located here and, during the First Year at Hogwarts event, hosts the new Secrets of Sound Effects show, revealing how magical sounds, Quidditch matches, and flying scenes were created for the Harry Potter films. The First Year at Hogwarts event runs from 7th May to 7th September 2026 and celebrates the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Throughout the Studio Tour, guests can discover original props, costumes, Wizard Chess pieces, Fluffy the three-headed dog, interactive experiences, and special displays inspired by Harry Potter's first year at Hogwarts. Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter opened in 2012 at Leavesden Studios, where all eight Harry Potter films were produced. The attraction showcases authentic sets, costumes, props, creature effects, and filmmaking secrets from the Wizarding World. Similar Studio Tours can also be found in Tokyo and Hollywood. Leavesden Studios is also home to the upcoming HBO Harry Potter television series starring Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. The new adaptation is expected to premiere in 2026.
