Japanese Monkey Leaps between Trees of Japanese Walnut & Japanese Cedar

An adult female Japanese monkey (aka snow monkey; Macaca fuscata fuscata, family Cercopithecidae) was spotted resting on the fork of an old tree of Japanese walnut (Juglans mandshurica var. sachalinensis, family Juglandaceae) by the roadside at the foot of a mountain. She was apparently wary of me and jumped to a side branch of an adjacent tree of Japanese red-cedar (Cryptomeria japonica, family Cupressaceae) to catch up with the moving troop. The moment of the leaping behaviour was replayed at 5x slow-motion (0:41-). Captured in the cloudy midafternoon (around 14:30 PM) of early-October 2024 in Japan.
