Activists raise Palestinian flag on Eiffel Tower to commemorate Nakba anniversary

French activists unfurled a Palestinian flag from the Eiffel Tower on Friday, marking the 78th anniversary of Nakba Day. One of the activists said the protest aimed to show solidarity with Palestinians and condemn Israel’s war on Gaza and settler violence in the occupied territories. Each year, on 15 May, millions mark the Nakba, or catastrophe, which refers to the ethnic cleansing of Palestine by Zionist militias to make way for the creation of Israel in 1948.
