RELIEF for farmers as we urgently extend resource consents

Urgent legislation has passed to extend resource consents for thousands of farmers who were set to face new restrictions on their activities in the coming year. The extension means that the next time consents are up for renewal, a better planning system will be in place. Associate Environment Minister Andrew Hoggard stood up earlier than expected to debate this legislation after the Opposition failed to speak on the previous bill.
