Al-Aqsa Imam appears in Israeli court over prayers for Gaza's martyrs

87-year-old Al-Aqsa Mosque Imam Sheikh Ekrima Sabri appeared before an Israeli occupation court in Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court, West Jerusalem, on May 17, charged over prayers he offered for the martyrs of Gaza. The Sheikh's defence team called the trial an unlawful continuation of proceedings targeting Palestinian religious and national figures, as Israeli authorities have previously raided his home and banned him from entering Al-Aqsa and travelling abroad.
