Trading Standards says Meta must do more to protect people from online scams in yet another push for greater regulation of social media platforms. An estimated 15 billion scam adverts appear on Facebook every day with Meta raking in billions of pounds a year in revenue from them. Consumer groups say criminal gangs are exploiting consumers and the government needs to do more to hold big tech companies to account.
