Description

In this video, I’ll show you how to replace the oil pressure sensor for the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) on a 2011 Honda Pilot (2nd Generation, 3.5L V6). This repair process can also apply to other Honda models equipped with the same engine, such as the Honda Odyssey and Honda Ridgeline. A faulty VVT oil pressure sensor can trigger a check engine light with the P3400 code, disable ECO mode, reduce engine performance, and even cause engine shuttering during acceleration. Fortunately, this is a simple DIY repair that can be completed with basic tools. For this repair, I’m using the Innova SD35 OBD2 scanner to confirm the code and clear the check engine light after the sensor replacement. This compact but powerful scanner works on any OBD2-equipped vehicle and is a great tool for DIY diagnostics. #HondaPilot #HondaRepair #CheckEngineLight #P3400 #OBD2Scanner #CarDIY #HondaOdyssey #HondaRidgeline #carmaintenance Amazon affiliated links to the Innova SD35 OBD2 scan tool: US: https://amzn.to/45Ng6E5 Canada: https://amzn.to/4mT58E6 🔧 Steps Covered in This Video: Removing the engine cover Locating the VVT oil pressure sensor Disconnecting the electrical connector Removing the old sensor with a 24mm deep socket Checking and cleaning the o-ring Installing and torquing the new sensor to 18 ft-lbs Reinstalling the engine cover Clearing the P3400 code with a scan tool Website: http://4diyers.com Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/4diyers Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/4diyers Twitter: https://twitter.com/4DIYers Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/4diyers/ Tumblr: http://4diyers.tumblr.com Pintrest: https://www.pinterest.com/4diyers/ This quick and cost-effective repair will help restore your Honda’s performance and get rid of that annoying check engine light. 📌 Tools/Parts Used: VVT Oil Pressure Sensor (Honda/Aftermarket) 24mm Deep Socket + Ratchet Innova SD35 OBD2 Scanner Thank you to all those who watch my videos and support my content.
