Description
Not all skills are used equally in Quest for Glory 3. In the rush to get this game developed, some skills were left with few opportunities to be used and even fewer ways to train them. Climbing is one of the most apparent victims of this, a skill that you could quite easily get through the first three games without gaining a single point in it. That the fourth game provides a book that, upon reading it, sets your climbing to 100 tells you a lot about how many alternate ways you're given to solve puzzles until that point which bypass climbing.
For Derek, climbing isn't the only thing he's going to have difficulty training. Intelligence and luck are going to be a challenge to max out, as the former is most associated with spellcasting and the latter is quite nebulous by nature. One way to improve intelligence as through playing Awari, a game that may seem simple on the outset but has many layers of complexity to it. Master it we must, however, for I have little doubt that it'll be critical to winning the game as well as our path to making Derek even smarter.
