Unfortunately, due to the war, visiting now was not possible. This video was recorded before the conflict and shows the full beauty and atmosphere of the church, especially as Christmas approaches. We began at Manger Square, the heart of Bethlehem, alive with pilgrims, tourists, and the joyful spirit of the holiday season. The streets were decorated with lights, and the air was filled with anticipation, music, and festive cheer. Inside the church, the Greek Orthodox area welcomes visitors with its rich icons and sacred spaces. The Grotto of the Nativity, where Jesus was born according to tradition, is simple yet profoundly moving, glowing with candlelight and surrounded by prayers from around the world. The ancient mosaics shimmer in the light, telling centuries of stories, and the carefully restored frescoes show the dedication of generations who have preserved this holy place. We also visited St. Catherine’s Church, the Catholic section, offering quiet reflection and beautiful architecture. Nearby, the Chapel of St. Joseph invites contemplation. The Jeronymus area adds even more history and spirituality to the visit. Every corner is filled with the joy and reverence of the season. This video captures the full spirit of Christmas in Bethlehem. Families and children walk through the square and church, candles flicker, voices sing carols, and the scents of incense and the festive season fill the air. Manger Square, the Greek Orthodox Church, the Grotto of the Nativity, the ancient mosaics, St. Catherine’s Church, the Chapel of St. Joseph, and the Jeronymus area all come together to create a vivid, unforgettable experience of faith, tradition, and holiday joy. Bethlehem at Christmas is a celebration of history, devotion, and humanity. Even from a distance, one can feel the warmth, light, and wonder that make this city so central to the Christmas story.
