The most frequently heard call of the Sacred Kingfisher is their loud, sharp 'kek-kek-kek-kek' song, a common sound of spring and summer in many parts of Australia. They also make a few other calls including the squeaky, 'tchyeeeur-kyeeeur' sounds heard in this recording, as well as rolling, trilling purrs.
