General Motors is making some big changes to its Silverado Medium Duty truck lineup, and we wanted to provide an update on what that means for commercial truck buyers. Commercial trucks manager Steve Sorensen shares more. GM is currently redesigning the Silverado 4500, 5500, and 6500. After ending its relationship with Navistar, General Motors is developing an all-new medium-duty platform. While more details are expected in 2027, there are also some changes happening to the current commercial lineup. One notable update involves the Chevy Express Cutaway. Historically, it has been available in three different wheelbases, but because the 177-inch wheelbase is believed to have been built through the previous Navistar partnership, GM is expected to discontinue that configuration for the time being. As a result, 16- to 18-foot box trucks on the Express Cutaway platform will likely be unavailable until the new platform arrives. The good news is that we still have these trucks in stock.
