Brothers and sisters: When Jesus Christ said: “But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” (Matthew 10:6, KJB) here: Mat 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: Mat 10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Mat 10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Mat 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. He was not speaking spiritually or metaphorically. He meant literal Israelites — covenant descendants of Jacob — who were scattered, oppressed, and estranged from their national calling. Here’s what that means, step by step. ✅ They were ISRAELITES — not Gentiles Just two verses earlier: “Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:” — Matthew 10:5 (KJB) So we already know: Not Gentiles 👉 👉 👉 Israel Not Samaritans Only This was strictly Kingdom ministry to God’s chosen nation. ✅ “Lost” means scattered and spiritually ruined — not missing tribes mythology Israel became “lost sheep” because of centuries of rebellion. God allowed them to be: • Scattered among the nations • Spiritually blind • Under Roman occupation • Burdened by corrupt religious leadership The northern tribes had been deported by Assyria, and Judah later went into captivity in Babylon. Many returned to Jerusalem, but the nation never fully recovered its glory or obedience. By Christ’s day: • Israel was back in the land • But far from God in heart • Led by Pharisees instead of prophets • Waiting for Messiah — yet unable to recognize Him That is why He said: “I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” — Matthew 15:24 (KJB) ✅ They were “lost” in CONDITION — not in LOCATION They were: ✔ ✔ ✔ physically present in Israel attending synagogues offering sacrifices Yet spiritually: blind ❌ ❌ ❌ ❌ hardened ignorant of their own Scriptures trusting religion instead of God Just as prophesied: “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way…” — Isaiah 53:6 (KJB) ✅ Christ came to RESTORE Israel’s Kingdom — not start the Body of Christ This is critical for Right Division. Jesus was preaching: � �“Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” —not grace salvation to Gentiles. The “lost sheep” were: covenant Israel 🔹 🔹 🔹 🔹 heirs of Abraham under the Law awaiting their promised King This has nothing to do with today’s Body of Christ. That came later — through Paul — by revelation of the Mystery. 🧭 In simple terms The “lost sheep of the house of Israel” were: ➡ ️ ➡ ️ ethnic Israelites scattered and spiritually ruined living under Law ➡ ️ waiting for Messiah ➡ ️ ➡ ️ being offered their prophesied Kingdom NOT Gentiles. NOT the Church. NOT modern believers. Pure Kingdom program Jesus Christ did not speak metaphorically when He said, “But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel” (Matthew 10:6, KJB). This was a literal Kingdom mission to covenant Israelites — not Gentiles, not the Church, and not today’s Body of Christ.
