Charlie and Layla

In this video you can see Charlie, in particular, nibbling at the bark on the branches. This is something that koalas do in the wild also. They will also eat dirt as well as bark. It is thought they do this to gain extra nutrients they may be missing from time to time, and are unable to get from eucalyptus leaf. You can also see how Charlie can be a bit rough with Layla, nipping at her. Believe me she can give as good as she gets when she feels inclined. It is just nice to see them exploring their environment and building muscle and skills, things they will need out in the wild.
