How to Travel as Airline Staff? Flying Standby on Emirates A380

How do you travel as airline staff? We flew standby from Dubai to Hong Kong on Emirates A380 in Economy. Our trip started at Dubai International Airport. At check-in, we paid a fee to use the Emirates concierge service. Then, we used the Merhaba Lounge before our flight, a travel benefit from our credit card. There were just 150 passengers onboard the A380 in Economy Class. During the flight, we talked about the eligibility of airline staff travel, the different types of ID tickets (ID50 vs. ID90), the seasonality of long-haul travel, and how to maximize the benefits. We enjoyed the usual Emirates Economy meal and service during our flight. The spaciousness of the A380 and the light load made our trip extra comfortable in Economy Class.
