World Environment Day celebrated in Baku, Azerbaijan

World Environment Day 2026 was celebrated in Baku, Azerbaijan, bringing together government leaders, climate advocates, artists and citizens to highlight the urgent need for climate action. Speaking at the event, UNEP Executive Director Inger Andersen warned that rising temperatures and intensifying climate impacts are affecting communities worldwide, while emphasizing that solutions already exist and must be deployed urgently and at scale.
