Power options span a single Mercury V10 400hp or twin V8 250s (500hp total), with top speeds nudging 50 knots. The 29 sits above the old 28 with more space, a broader bow and three distinct versions to choose from, making it the most flexible model in the Axopar range. At the helm, the XC with its single 400 V10 feels balanced and confidence-inspiring. Bow lift is well managed, running level even through short chop, with a fast cruise around 35 knots and near-50 knot top end. Handling is secure and predictable, with the broader bow giving a drier ride and extra grip in hard turns. Switch to the CCX and the twin 250 V8s deliver more punch, sharper acceleration and a throatier soundtrack. It is the sportier drive, more visceral thanks to the open cockpit, but the wraparound windscreen still keeps the helm dry and comfortable in rougher seas. On deck, the XC delivers that proper wheelhouse protection with a multi-cabin under the aft sunpad, handy deck storage, a compact wet bar with sink and fridge, a deck shower and an A-frame for watersports. The foredeck benefits from the broader bow with a U-shaped seating area, table options and storage throughout, plus useful mouldings and grab points to steady yourself when moving forward. The CCX trades the full enclosure for an open cockpit with a long Targa top, wraparound windscreen and side panels for shelter, giving you that best-of-both-worlds feel. Inside the XC, the wheelhouse is bigger and brighter than the old 28 with curved glass, wider doors and better circulation. Ventilation comes from a canvas roof, either manual or electric. The helm is simple and unintimidating, just throttle and wheel, with clear sightlines and the choice of one or two MFDs. Tip the helm seats forward and you uncover a clever little galley arrangement with fridge, sink and a stowable table, turning the aft bench into a dining space under cover. The CCX shares the same forward cabin and console setup, but with its more open cockpit and Brabus Line options it feels sportier and less enclosed than the Cross Cabin. Accommodation is spread across two cabins. The aft multi-cabin, tucked beneath the sunpad, is the larger of the two with natural light, charging points and plenty of storage. Forward, accessed from a deck hatch, is the compact cabin with an electric toilet and a small sink, making it a practical day-boat space. The XC works well if you want an all-weather, lock-up-and-leave boat. The CCX will suit those chasing a rugged open feel with extra punch from the twin rigs, perfect for owner-operators or as a versatile superyacht tender.
