Mother and baby rescued from the rubble of Venezuela earthquakes

A mother and baby were pulled from rubble by American and local rescuers on June 27 after devastating earthquakes hit Venezuela on June 24. The two were found alive with minor injuries, according to the Urban Search and Rescue Team from Fairfax County, Virginia. The government has reported over 1,400 dead from the earthquakes as it faces growing criticism from Venezuelans that its response is inadequate and overshadowed by civilian-led efforts to rescue people buried under collapsed buildings. Thousands more have been reported missing.
