The Big Four: A Plenary Indulgence Every Day

You don’t have to wait for a Jubilee Year. You don’t have to travel to Rome. You can receive a plenary indulgence nearly every single day. Father Chris Alar, MIC explains the Church’s “Big Four”: 1. the public recitation of the Rosary, 2. 30 minutes or more of Scripture reading, 3. 30 minutes or more of Eucharistic Adoration, or 4. making the Stations of the Cross at any “legitimately erected” set of Stations, such as those in your parish church. Do any one of these (according to the usual conditions), and the Church offers a complete remission of the temporal punishment due to sin already forgiven. This is not a loophole. This is mercy. This is an application of the treasury of grace Christ entrusted to His Church. Don’t ignore the gift. Embrace it.
