Description
High-end jewelry campaigns may feel out of reach because of the high costs and large productions often involved, but you don’t need a big studio (or a ton of gear) to create professional results!
In this video, I show you how I build a luxury jewelry campaign for my portfolio in a small studio space using a progression of one to four lights.
My approach focuses on technical control to create the specularity and separation that high-end clients expect, even when shooting in a smaller space (such as a converted office or spare bedroom).
You'll learn how to:
• Maximize a small studio space for high-end beauty and jewelry photography
• Build a lighting setup from one to four strobes for greater control and separation
• Use an optical spot to create hard, specular highlights on jewelry
💡 Lighting Setup
• Main Light: Westcott Optical Spot (with 150mm lens) used to create hard, specular light and controlled slices of light.
• Fill Light: Bare bulb strobe fill add shadow detail and increase sparkle in the jewelry.
• Rim / Hair Light: Boomed Profoto B10X Plus placed behind the subject to create separation and highlight the shoulders.
• Background Light: Bare bulb on a floor stand used to create a gradient and add depth.
