Description
Katie speaks to Conservative Catholic Carrie Prejean Boller, a member of Trump's Religious Liberty Commission, who challenged the claim that antizionism is antisemitism. They're joined by Muslim-American activist, Sameerah Munshi, who was an advisor on the commission and Yaakov Shapiro, an antizionist rabbi who Carrie tried to have as an expert witness. She was denied, however, since only Zionist Jews were allowed to speak.
But first Katie is joined by Cuban journalist and producer Liz Oliva Fernández and Cuban-American activist Hebel Morales, a member of the Miami Coalition Against the Blockade of Cuba and of Puentes de Amor ( Bridges of Love ). Liz Oliva Fernández is a Cuban journalist and documentary filmmaker based in Havana, Cuba, and co-founder of Belly of the Beast (https://www.bellyofthebeastcuba.com/). She presented the award-winning series The War on Cuba (Gracie Award, Alliance for Women in Media) and directed the documentaries ‘Uphill on the Hill’ and ‘Hardliner on the Hudson’, reporting on the political and economic forces shaping U.S.–Cuba relations through the lived experiences often missing from mainstream coverage. Liz has interviewed notable figures, including Alice Walker, Elián González, and Congressman Jim McGovern.
Carrie Prejean Boller is a wife, mother of two, and a passionate advocate for truth, faith, and the protection of children. From San Diego, California, she first rose to national prominence in 2009 as Miss California. She later authored the book Still Standing, with the support and mentorship of President Donald Trump. Almost two decades later, Carrie continues her work as an author, child advocate, and community activist, guided by a deep commitment to protecting religious freedom and upholding First Amendment protections and the right of every American to live according to their deeply held beliefs. On the National Day of Prayer, Carrie was appointed by President Trump to serve on the Religious Liberty Commission at the White House, alongside Bishop Robert Barron and Cardinal Timothy Dolan. A former member of the Evangelical Church, Carrie was welcomed into the Catholic Church at Easter 2025 and remains steadfast in her mission to protect the religious liberties of all Americans. She is married to former NFL quarterback Kyle Boller, and together they are raising their two children.
Yaakov Shapiro is an international speaker, author, and pulpit rabbi for over 30 years, now emeritus. He has attained an enviable place in the arena of anti-Zionist public intellectuals, having constructed a unique oeuvre on the ideology of Zionism and its relationship to Judaism. After graduating high school at age 16, Rabbi Shapiro dedicated himself to full-time study of religion, becoming the protégé of some of the most well-regarded rabbinic scholars in Orthodoxy. Among his areas of research are religious philosophy, analytic theology, Talmud, Halachah, and Biblical exegesis. At age 19 he published his first book, משפטי הבירורים, a collection of original expositions on rabbinic principles of tort adjudication. His most recent work, The Empty Wagon: Zionism’s Journey from Identity Crisis to Identity Theft (2018), a 1381-page treatise on the differences between Judaism and Zionism, is the most comprehensive work written on the subject and considered by many to be definitive. Rabbi Shapiro is a recipient of the Community Leadership Award from Agudath Israel of America; the Keser Torah Award from Yeshiva Torah Vodaath; Harbotzas Torah award from Yeshiva Bais Yisroel; Parent of the Year Award from Bnos Yisroel; and a post-rabbinical scholarship award from the Memorial Foundation for Jewish Culture.
Sameerah Munshi is a Brown University graduate with degrees in Mathematics and Political Science, where she was recognized with the James Manning Medal for her work in interfaith engagement and religious studies. She previously served as Executive Director of the Coalition of Virtue, a Muslim-led nonprofit known for its role in the Supreme Court case Mahmoud v. Taylor. Munshi has since pursued advanced study in the Islamic scholarly tradition and is currently an advisor to the White House Religious Liberty Commission.
