Description
Paddy Crump from FlippGen, a youth-led digital wellbeing organisation, has told Politics Live on BBC Two that young people he has spoken to feel the social media ban for under-16s is “a political football” and that they are “being used by a prime minister who wants to play good politics”.
In response, Conservative peer Rachel Maclean said, “it is the government’s job to make the right decisions in the interest of those young people and there is overwhelming evidence that young people are being harmed”.
Also joining host Vicki Young in the studio were Labour MP Joe Morris and Sienna Rodgers from The House Magazine.
