Most people notice a drop in mood or energy during the winter months. But it’s not just caused by the cold and the darkness. The way that we live in winter makes low mood more likely. We withdraw, socialise less, exercise less, and stay indoors more which disrupts the circadian rhythm. The result is low mood, low energy, loneliness and the urge to do more of those things that keep us stuck.
But we know this right? When we let these things slide, it’s not for lack of knowledge about how to be healthy, it’s mostly because we are busy focusing on other things. Despite knowing what works, I am not perfect with any of them. Having a quiet nudge every day from my Galaxy Watch8 has genuinely been the best thing I have used to keep me on track with all of the health behaviours that I tend to forget to prioritise when I’m busy.
