Hellcat planes fly over the sea and a carrier battle group, then land on the deck of the aircraft carrier. Before reaching this level of mastery, naval pilots must familiarize themselves with deck-landing procedures. To do this, they train, on an airfield on land, to follow the instructions given to them by the landing officer. Sometimes, a bad landing can unfortunately end in an accident... Once the ground exercise is over, the pilots join the aircraft carrier Arromanches in a squadron and carry out a real-life landing, under the watchful eye of the ship's firefighters. As a final exercise, the pilots must take off and attack a torpedo boat that is part of the carrier battle group, which defends itself by activating its anti-aircraft defenses. Des avions Hellcat survolent la mer et un groupe aéronaval, puis se posent sur le pont du porte-avions. Avant d’arriver à ce niveau de maîtrise, les pilotes de l’aéronavale doivent se familiariser avec les procédures d’appontage. Pour ce faire, ils s’entraînent, sur un terrain d’aviation à terre, à suivre les instructions que leur donne l’officer d’appontage. Parfois, un mauvais atterrissage peut malheureusement se terminer en accident… Une fois l’exercice au sol terminé, les pilotes rejoignent en escadrille le porte-avions Arromanches et font un appontage en situation réelle, sous l’oeil vigilant des pompiers du bord. En guise d’exercice final, les pilotes doivent décoller et attaquer un torpilleur faisant partie du groupe aéronaval, qui se défend en activant sa DCA.
