AirSeT: SF₆ Free Medium Voltage Equipment Using Pure Air | Schneider Electric

AirSeT is Schneider Electric’s SF₆ free medium voltage equipment for secondary applications, designed to support regulatory compliance and decarbonization objectives. It replaces SF₆ with pure air insulation, combined with vacuum interruption technology, delivering equivalent performance without fluorinated gases. SF₆ has a global warming potential 24,300 times greater than CO₂ and is increasingly regulated. By eliminating SF₆, AirSeT enables immediate greenhouse gas emissions reduction and supports Scope 1 and Scope 3 targets. AirSeT solutions have already helped avoid approximately 2.5 million tonnes of CO₂e compared with SF₆ based alternatives. Pure air is filtered, purified, and pressurized atmospheric air sealed within the equipment. It removes the need for gas handling, leak detection, or complex end of life treatment, simplifying lifecycle management.
