That's Texas State Representative James Talarico. He was supposed to be here, but we were told in no uncertain terms by our network's lawyers who called us directly that we could not have him on the broadcast. Then I was told in some uncertain terms that not only could I not have him on, I could not mention me not having him on. And because my network clearly doesn't want us to talk about this, let's talk about this.” Now officially, CBS gave the excuse that airing the interview would violate the FCC’s Equal Time Rule, which says that if you give air time to a political candidate, you have to give equal air time to all their opponents…Except that rule doesn’t apply to cable or even talk shows like Colbert’s. But the current Trump puppet running the FCC has threatened to change that exemption. He’s even started investigating The View for hosting Talarico. And so like what they did with the 60 Minutes report on migrant detention centers a couple of months ago, they axed the story – many saying either out of fear of Trump or blind fealty. (broll @0:00) But Colbert is a man with nothing to lose – CBS is canning the Late Show in May and although they claim it’s a “purely financial” decision, no one’s really buying that. Right, Colbert lays into Trump every chance he gets, and Bari Weiss now seems hellbent on catering news to MAGA every chance she gets. —————————— Produced by: Cory Ray, Philip DeFranco Edited by: James Girardier, Maxwell Enright, Julie Goldberg, Christian Meeks, Matthew Henry Art Department: William Crespo Writing/Research: Cory Ray, Philip DeFranco ———————————— #LateShow #USA #America
