The technique can be applied to various plant species which include mango trees. The optimal time for air layering a mango tree occurs during the spring season and early summer period which coincides with the rainy season that brings warm humid weather. This will help the roots to form quickly. Materials You'll Need: Sharp pruning shears or a knife Cocopeat rooting medium Plastic wrap or plastic bag Twine or zip tie Aloe Vera (optional) A healthy mango tree Steps: Select a Branch: Choose a healthy, 2-year-old branch that is about 1 inch thick. The branch should be located in a shady spot on the tree. Prepare the Branch: Make a clean cut around the selected branch, Make a cut in the bark of the branch, about 1 inch long. The cut area needs bark removal because this process will show the cambium layer which contains root-producing cells. Aloe Vera (Optional): You can also use a Aloe Vera gel, but this is not necessary. Fill a polythene bag with cocopeat, and tie it tightly to the cut part of the branch. This method establishes a sealed system which maintains moist conditions to support root growth. Wait for Roots to Develop: In about 6-8 weeks, you should see roots forming in the Cocopeat. The branch can be detached from the parent plant as soon as the roots reach a length of 2 inches. Plant the rooted branch in a pot of Soil and compost mix. The plant needs water twice every week while it should stay in a shady area. The newly planted branch will need about 4 to 6 months to establish itself. Once it is established, you can move it to a sunny spot in your yard. Plant the air-layered mango tree into a pot filled with well-draining potting mix or directly into the ground. The newly planted mango tree requires proper maintenance which includes all necessary tasks to ensure its health and growth. 🌿⭐Our other videos:⭐🌿 ✅How to grow guava tree, great way to propagate guava tree by air layering 👉https://youtu.be/0iXTHf1IWbw ✅Best method of propagation and grafting guava tree 👉https://youtube.com/live/6TNGG-H3ivQ ✅How to grow mango and lychee tree 👉https://youtube.com/live/b9559lgbfo4 ✅Unique Ideas for propagation fig tree by air layering with tissue paper 👉https://youtu.be/Xz7H3Fk3MvI ✅New method of propagate lemon tree using just cloth 👉https://youtu.be/23vwDpOEx5o ✅Guava tree grafting techniques 👉https://youtu.be/BzAKedZgqfM ✅Simple method of propagating bougainvillea tree from cuttings 👉https://youtu.be/Qdb0u7GN11U ✅Best method of propagate roses by air layering with tomato 👉https://youtu.be/jBo8qXFnzr4 ✅Great idea to propagation of mogra jasmine, adenium 👉https://youtube.com/live/h0wCGBsRQrs ✅New ideas of propagation lemon tree by air layering and cuttings method! 👉https://youtube.com/live/vdY3eFCdfK4 ✅Best method of propagate lemon trees 👉https://youtube.com/live/y9wRBoL2GhQ ✅Do you know?
