Gone Exploring to the VERY End of Long Plain Road, Perkins Flat & The Broken Cart Trail!

G'day all! Long Plain has LONG (HAHA, get it!) been one of my favorites spots in the Snowies for a getaway. However, amazingly, iv NEVER ventured past the Blue Waterholes turnoff. Iv always wondered whats past there, and curiosity had finally gotten to me. I found out there was a campground at the very end, so i thought, perfect, im heading there! Long Plain Road as many of us know it, up to Blue Waterholes, is a gentle, easy gravel road suitable for most vehicles. However past this, it turns into an Easy/Mild 4wd track, and a rather scenic track at that! I spent the night camping and fishing at Perkins Flat campground along the beautiful Goodradigbee River. And to make it even better, i got my season and year of to a good start by landing a nice little Bow'! The next day, i decided to hit another track that iv long thought about doing, but never had gotten to it: The Broken Cart Trail! As many of you know, Long Plain Road and Tantangara Road are the only (easy, 2wd) ways to access Long Plain. But the other way? A nice little 4wd track along Broken Cart Trail, that connects Long Plain through to the Brindabella's. Its a nice track through some gum tree forests, through some mildly rough and rocky country. Its definitely another great way to get into Long Plain, and id highly recommend it if your looking for a different way to get to Long Plain instead of the Highway as usual. Enjoy!
