To Make Moong Dal Vada
Moong Dal - 1 Cup
Urad Dal - 1/4 Cup
Raw Rice - 1/4 Cup
Onion - 1 No.
Green Chilli - 2 Nos
A Piece Of Ginger
Salt - 1 Tsp
Hing / Asafoetida - 1/4 Tsp
Ajwain - 1 Tsp
Coriander Leaves
Oil
Method:
1. Take moong dal, urad dal and rice in a bowl.
2. Wash them all nicely and soak them in water for 2 hours.
3. After 2 hours, strain off the water and transfer the soaked dal-rice to a mixer jar.
4. Coarsely grind the ingredients and do not add any water for perfect batter.
5. Transfer the bhajiya batter to a bowl and add in chopped onions, green chillies, ginger, salt, ajwain and chopped coriander leaves.
6. Mix them all well and keep the prepared batter aside. There's no need for resting the batter.
7. Take oil in a wide kadai and heat it.
8. Once the oil is heated, gently drop in the batter as small and even sized balls.
9. Keep the flame on a medium and fry the bhajiyas until they are golden brown in colour.
10. Once the bhajiyas are evenly fried on all sides, remove them from the oil and transfer to a plate.
11. Crispy and soft moong dal bhajiyas are ready to be served hot with coconut chutney, mint chutney or even tomato ketchup if you like.
