MSI has introduced PinSafe, a new motherboard soldering technology designed to reduce physical hazards for builders by shortening pin lengths and flattening solder on the rear of the PCB. This design utilizes a reflow soldering method that ensures precise control, creating uniform joints and minimizing voids while remaining cost-effective for production. Beyond safety, PinSafe improves long-term reliability and signal quality by incorporating solder pads within the solder mask to reduce air exposure and prevent oxidation. The technology has successfully passed EMC testing, confirming its grounding and signal integrity are comparable to traditional designs. Consumers can currently find this feature on the MSI MPG X870E Carbon Max WiFi motherboard.
