Welcome to one of the weirdest (and most adorable) animal milestones you’ve probably never heard of: papping. At Symbio Wildlife Park, our baby koalas have started eating something special… and yes, it’s technically poo. But this isn’t just any poo—it’s pap: a soft, oily, bacteria-rich substance produced by mum to help joeys develop the gut flora they need to digest eucalyptus leaves. This fascinating natural behaviour is rarely seen in the wild—but we were lucky enough to witness the full process AND get it on camera!
