Description

Mum and Dad come for bales and both collect for chicks! And I can't tell Dad from Mum. At the moment Dad has a dark nape and he's even kind of got Mum's eye makeup. I thought Mum arrived first but it was actually Dad. She shows up second looking like she's been dragged backwards through a series of hedges. It's only when they're side by side I finally work it out. The birds I've been filming from the mower the last couple of days is likely Dad, not Mum. I suspect they're both moulting. Dad decides to steal the roaches Mum is collecting at 4:20. He got at least one. Mum has a bit of a grumble about it and legs it with a full beak. Actually not “legs it”, that should be “wings it”. They are far from regular visitors lately but maybe that will change now they've remembered what a good source of roaches it can be. I guess we'll see if/when they come back.
