It begins in Yellowknife Northwest Territories where we board a floatplane for a very long charter flight across the Nunavut border where we're deposited at the extreme headwater of the magnificent Hood River. This area is ultra remote and untouched. We catch multiple Huge Lake Trout as we paddle 100kms of lakes and deal with shallow water in the connecting river before reaching the Hood River Proper. The scenery is unreal as is the fishing and wildlife. We se many caribou, arctic wolves and have a run in with a Grizzly Bear. Wilberforce Falls and Canyon is a highlight for us but it requires a challenging portage. After running many rapids and discovering some very old Inuit historical sites, we finally make it to the coast at the Arctic Ocean for our floatplane pick-up but the weather takes a turn for the worse and we need to wait it out as our food supplies dwindle.
