Why Does Twitter HATE this Indie Pilot? (PLANETRONIKA)

Did you know this in planetronika? So i’ve made a couple videos on this indie pilot, and since it’s release it’s actually got alot of backlash especially on twitter. Why do people hate it so much? Let me explain. So the first thing is because of the main character butterfly. A recurring bit throughout the pilot is that there’s plenty of fan service, it’s meant to parody early 2000’s shows but they’ve leaned into that a bit more. On twitter especially this pissed alot of people off, with tweets with tens of thousands of likes calling it goon bait, or nostalgia slop. The show’s creator rafael responded to complaints about the fan service, saying in one reply that he intends to tone it down a bit in the future. This was met with people saying to keep things how they are, and rafael replied again saying he misworded it, he’s just going to be more selective where he puts it. On that note as soon as the show started to gain traction a lot of twitter users noticed they were blocked, and got frustrated. The answer to this was likely that the creator was subscribed to a blocklist, but i think it’s pretty funny to just have half of twitter blocked, the website is miserable. Personally I think the show is great. It’s not flawless obviously, but it’s one of the most unique indie pilots so far on youtube, and getting a ton of hate is unfortunately quite common in the indie animation space.
