Description
Operation Topaz | Watch the video to see how we use new tactics to close in on a suspected domestic violence offender ⬇️
We are one of five forces taking part in Op Topaz, an initiative aimed at identifying and intercepting high-risk offenders using Merseyside’s roads.
This operation brings together our Roads Policing Unit and other specialist teams, using predictive Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and intelligence-led tactics to locate, intercept, and arrest individuals who pose a serious threat to women and girls.
In just one week, this joined-up approach led to:
-19 arrests for a total of 42 offences (including domestic related kidnap, domestic violence, harassment, threats to kill, drug offences, and assault)
-37 serious offences addressed
-Safer communities for women and girls
Learn more about our commitment to ending Violence Against Women and Girlis (VAWG) and the work we are doing to create safer streets this summer on our website.
