Ireland bans Israel’s Ben Gvir and Smotrich from entering country

Ireland has barred Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich from entering the country over statements calling for “the elimination of Palestinians from Palestine”, Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin said, while calling on the European Union to take similar action. “In my view, their behaviour justifies sanctions at the EU level as well, and that’s something that we will raise,” he told reporters at a summit of European Union and Balkan leaders in Montenegro.
