Video captures garbage truck worker attacking 17-year-old in Washtenaw County

A Washtenaw County family has filed a complaint against Duncan Disposal Systems and a former employee after a garbage truck worker was caught on surveillance video repeatedly punching a 17-year-old boy in a van. It began when the family tried to pass the reversing truck, leading to a verbal altercation and then a physical attack on the teen, who suffered a concussion, possible fractured rib, and a sprained ankle. The family’s attorney says the injuries have significantly impacted the teen’s daily life and activities, and they are seeking changes to the company’s hiring, supervision, and training practices.
