'It's a good time for Fifa to explain how it appoints referees' - BBC Africa

Sarah Ochwada is a renowned Kenyan international sports lawyer and serves as the Deputy Chairperson and judge for the Players' Status Chamber (PSC), a specialized sports court and an internal legal body of Fifa. In an exclusive interview with the BBC's Waihiga Mwaura, she says that football's top body still suffers from a ''lot of lack of transparency in how certain things are done'' and also believes that now is a good opportunity for Fifa to "explain to the public how it appoints match officials'', following several polemic decisions seen in the 2026 Fifa World Cup.
