EC govt plans to re-purpose Empilweni TB Hospital

The Eastern Cape health department is in the process of re-purposing the Empilweni TB hospital in Gqeberha to become a district hospital. This is in response to the longstanding concern about congestion at clinics and hospitals. The Eastern Cape provincial legislature convened a public engagement to address challenges of availability and access to quality treatment at public health facilities in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro.
