Description
I’ve got a problem.
We’re getting ready to pour this basement floor but the concrete’s gonna leak out through this hole.
So, what’s the fix? I’m going to temporarily screw this board to the concrete to cover the opening.
I’m using these Torque Master ¼” concrete screws.
The thing I like about these particular screws is they have a T25 drive.
First, I need to drill a hole into the concrete with a 3/16” masonry bit.
This is an SDS hammer drill, it actually hammers the drill bit as it rotates.
Now the hole I drilled is slightly small than the shaft on the screw, so the screw will thread into the concrete wall.
The great thing about these Torque Master screws is, if I accidently sink a screw too deep- I can still grab it and back it out with a T25 bit.
It’s much harder to do this with a hex head nut driver.
Also, something else that’s really cool… this Makita hammer drill has a built-in vacuum to collect the concrete dust.
I’ve been saving all the dust this vacuum collects, at this rate I should have enough to build a free house in about 30 years. I just need to add water. @hausplans
