Description
The Giant Hand sculpture of Vyrnwy, is a powerful symbol of the enduring connection between nature and art. This piece was crafted in 2011, by artist Simon O'Rourke, from what was once the joint-highest tree in the UK. At an impressive 63.7 metres tall and 124 years old, the tree stood proudly until hit by a storm and only a 15.2 metre stump remained, which Simon transformed into the sculpture you see today.
