Found in a remote, forgotten area outside of Tijuana alongside his companion, Amos was in gut-wrenching condition. Limping, covered in fleas, ravaged by mange, dehydrated, and dragging his injured legs just to move forward, we don’t even know how this boy is alive. This broken boy is finally safe, but he still needs urgent medical care, time, patience, and a whole lot of love to begin again. Will you help us save Amos?
Amos and his friend Eula were trying to survive together in an isolated place outside of Tijuana, where suffering is often unseen and help rarely comes. For likely months, these two endured day after day without the care. When a Good Samaritan posted on social media about their suffering, we didn’t hesitate. But nothing could have prepared us for what we found when we arrived.
Amos has been ravaged by long-term neglect. This gentle boy is barely able to walk. His body is covered in severe mange, heavy flea infestation, and riddled with injuries that were never treated or even noticed. Most heartbreaking of all, his paw is severely damaged, and he is forced to drag both back legs as he moves. We rushed him into veterinary care, hoping for answers that might bring relief. What we learned was even harder to hear.
The veterinarian discovered that Amos’s fractures were old—his pelvis and hind legs had already healed on their own, but they healed wrong. And the emotional damage runs just as deep. Amos is terrified. During his exam, he was so scared that he urinated when handled. That kind of fear doesn’t appear overnight. We don’t know what happened to this hurting soul, but we are determined to help him heal, emotionally and physically, no matter the cost.
Right now, the medical team is focusing on giving Amos time. Time to decompress and build trust before moving forward with further diagnostics, X-rays, or possible surgery. And even in just a short time, we’re already starting to see small moments of confidence come through. Those small moments mean everything.
Amos now needs continued medical care, treatment for his severe mange, flea prevention, proper nutrition, hydration, follow-up diagnostics, and likely orthopedic support down the line. But just as importantly, he needs patience and consistency so both his body and his spirit can finally start to heal. That’s why we’re asking for help today.
Please consider donating if you’re able. Truly, every act of kindness makes a difference. And if you can’t donate, sharing their story might be the thing that brings them the help they need. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support and generosity.
