Description
In Paraguay’s Chaco, the Ayoreo live between two worlds. Some were forced out of the forest in recent decades. Others, their relatives, still remain deep inside it, avoiding all contact with the outside world.
Today, those who left have become the last line of defense for those who stayed. As deforestation advances and outside actors push deeper into Ayoreo territory, first contact remains a threat, bringing disease, loss of land, and the collapse of an entire way of life.
This film follows Ayoreo leaders fighting through law, education, and memory to protect their people, their forest, and the right of their uncontacted relatives to remain untouched.
